We named our brand Old Route One because we believe in the scenic route lifestyle. Long before modern interstates, US Route One, "the Atlantic Highway", carved its way from the lobster shacks of Fort Kent, Maine to the sunset bars of Key West, Florida. This 2,370-mile ribbon of asphalt became more than just a road — it was the backbone of American dreams.
We exist for those who understand the best things in life aren't found in the fast lane. Our people are bourbon and whiskey lovers, hunters, and collectors — the ones who'll drive an hour for an allocated bottle, who know their shelf by name, and who believe a good pour is worth sipping slow.
That road runs through more whiskey and bourbon history than most people realize. Head north on Route 1 through Virginia and you're minutes from Mount Vernon, where George Washington once ran one of early America's largest whiskey distilleries. Push into Maryland and you're in old rye country, a style nearly lost to Prohibition. Head south through the Carolinas and Georgia and you'll find a new generation of small distillers — reviving old traditions and building new ones, one barrel at a time. Different states, same spirit, taking the long way, doing it right.
